Reading Buddy: Voice control 1.1.2

Reading Buddy utilizes advanced Speech Recognition technology to facilitate reading practice for students in Kindergarten through third grade. The platform offers the opportunity to learn essential Dolch Sight Words, explore concepts such as Silent E, and engage with various phonetic sounds including CH, SH, and TH. Additionally, students can work with numbers and other vocabulary relevant to their classroom lessons. Designed for independent use, it allows users to incorporate personalized word or phrase lists to reinforce what is being learned in class.

How To Use

• As a Student: Upon receiving a prompt with a word displayed in text form, the student records themselves saying the word aloud. Scoring is awarded for accurate pronunciations.
• The subsequent lesson will only become accessible if the previous lesson was completed with a score of at least 2 stars (75%).

• As a Parent: Assist your child in selecting the appropriate grade level—whether that be Kindergarten, first grade, second grade, or third grade. It may be beneficial to explore content above or below their current school level. Encourage concentration on one specific category until it is mastered to enhance reading skills.

How To Create Lessons

Create custom lessons by selecting the "Create Lesson" button on the home page. You can enter the lesson name along with the specific words or phrases you wish to include. Optionally, assign a category, although this will default to "Custom." Finally, choose an appropriate level for the child’s lesson.
